Can I offset crypto losses against gains?

No. Losses from one VDA cannot be set off against gains from another, nor against any other income. Each transaction is taxed independently.

Is 1% TDS deducted by exchanges?

Yes. Indian exchanges (Coinswitch, CoinDCX, WazirX) deduct 1% TDS on the sale value above ₹10,000 per FY (₹50,000 for specified cases). For P2P or foreign exchanges, you must pay TDS yourself.
